Home electric car charging network startup Statiq on Tuesday announced a partnership with car-sharing marketplace Zoomcar to boost electric car travel in the country.

Under this agreement, Statiq and Zoomcar allow EV owners to host and earn additional income by sharing EVs with guests on Zoomcar.

"This collaboration gives a much-needed boost to the electric vehicle charging ecosystem. At the same time, it will increase the popularity of electric vehicles among non-electric owners and help promote a culture of clean mobility among the public," Akshit Bansal, co-founder, and CEO of Statiq, said in a statement.

The company said that the Delhi NCR region will be the pilot for this deal and over time it will expand to other cities including Mumbai and Bengaluru. The company said it will now allow EV owners to list their cars as Zoomcar hosts.

"At Zoomcar, we strive to pioneer innovative solutions that can help shape the mobility industry. We are confident that this partnership will provide our host and guest customers with easy sharing of electric vehicles." Zoomcar CEO and co-founder Greg Moran said in a statement.

Furthermore, while Statiq supports this deployment through its network of accessible, affordable and reliable charging stations, the move is expected to boost and accelerate the adoption of electric cars in the country as well, the company added.
