Read Detailed Analysis and Day-by-Day Breakdown for Akshay Kumar's Film

The movie Selfiee, starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, has been utterly unsuccessful in drawing audiences to theaters.

Raj Mehta's film, which debuted in theaters last weekend, did not even make a respectable opening weekend haul, much less match Akshay's star power in a major motion picture. According to the trade website sacnilk, Selfiee made about Rs 3.90 crore nett on its first Sunday after debuting at Rs 2.55 crore nett.

A picture can be deemed dull and dry at the box office with just Rs 10 crore collected in three days. when Akshay Kumar is the film's director.

Given that Kumar is regarded as one of the greatest crowd-pullers in the business, the collection appears even more tragic.

AFTER OPENING WEEKEND, WATCH SELFIEE'S DAY-BY-DAY BOX OFFICE BREAKUP:

Friday: Rs 2.55 crore

Saturday: Rs 3.88 crore

Sunday: Rs 3.90 crore (early estimate)

Total: Rs 10.25 crore

In the Hindi version of the successful Malayalam movie "Driving Licence," "Selfiee," Akshay portrays Vijay Kumar, a celebrity. It appears to be a clean family entertainment, but in the post-pandemic age, that isn't enough to draw audiences out of their comfortable homes where Netflix and Amazon Prime are readily available. The audience does not appear intrigued unless you have a complete package of stardom, action, romance, originality, craze, and a talented ensemble. They no longer accept anything less than the best!

After Bell Bottom, Bachchan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and Raksha Bandhan at the Box Office, this is Akshay's sixth box office flop. The next trick up his sleeve is Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which has more potential to rescue him from this depressing period and restore his status as the genuine draw at the box office.
