Urfi Javed expresses sympathy for Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife

Urfi Javed has waded into the controversy between Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his estranged wife Aaliya.

After the latter recently shared a video claiming that Nawazuddin has barred her and their kids from entering his house in the middle of the night, Urfi shared the video on her social media and threw her weight behind Aaliya.

On Sunday afternoon, Urfi shared the video on Instagram Stories and wrote, “Nothing to say, breaks my heart. Kinda reminded me of my days. Just sympathy.” On Thursday, Aaliya had posted a video on Instagram where she had claimed that she and their children were not being allowed back in the house and it also showed her and Nawazuddin’s daughter Shora crying inconsolably. Aaliya claimed in the video that around 11 p.m., Nawazuddin hired a group of guards who barred them from entering the house. Aaliya added that she had no idea where to go because she only had Rs 81 rupees with her.

The following day, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's spokesperson issued a statement rebutting Aaliya's claim. The actor has "already registered the property in his ammi, Mehrunisa Siddiqui's name," according to the statement. According to the spokesperson, this means Mehrunisa owns the house, not Nawazuddin. The decision not to let Aaliya into the house was made by her caretaker, not the actor, according to the spokesperson. "Nawaz has no say over who enters the property. "However, Ammi's caretaker has stated that only children are permitted on the property, and only Aaliya is not permitted because the property now belongs to Ammi," the statement continued.

The actor's spokesperson also stated that while Aaliya claims that she and the children were both barred from entering the house, this is false because the children are welcome. "As we can see in the video, only Aaliya is not permitted to enter the property, but the children are." The spokesperson also stated that Nawazuddin has rented out a flat in Mumbai to Aaliya. Aaliya and Nawazuddin married in 2009 and have two children, son Yaani and daughter Shora. Their marriage, however, has been in trouble for several years, with both parties filing multiple cases against each other, alleging everything from abuse to defamation.
