New Covid-19 flyer regulations

Recently, the Indian government eased a few Covid-19 regulations for flyers from China and five other nations.

In light of the decrease in corona cases worldwide, the Ministry of Health issued instructions to loosen a few traveller protocols that will take effect immediately. Pre-boarding RT-PCR tests have previously been mandated by the Indian government for travellers from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Japan. The requirement to upload self-health declarations to the Air-Suvidha App has now been reduced by the government.

The frequency of covid cases around the world has sharply decreased, so the centre has updated some of the Covid-19 recommendations for travellers coming from or passing through China and the other 5 nations.

Updated Covid-19 flyer specifications-

The recently announced implementation date for the new Covid-19 rules for flyers was mentioned in a letter recently sent by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan to Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal.According to Rajesh Bhushan's letter, the centre has chosen to expand the present requirement for pre-departure COVID-19 testing in place of diminishing corona cases (which was to be taken not more than 72 hours before the commencement of the journey).

Additionally, the "Air Suvidha" Self-Health Declaration has been loosened.

Travelers should be aware that the union health ministry will continue to keep an eye on the new versions.

With this, the government would keep randomly testing 2% of all aeroplanes arriving in India for Covid-19.

Prior to this, the random testing of the travellers was suspended in November, but it resumed on December 24 as a result of the government's careful examination of the mounting covid-19 cases in China and its neighbours.

The new Covid-19 recommendations Rajesh Bhushan noted are now in effect as of this morning at 11 AM (February 13).
